Hello, my name is...

Hello everyone/anyone?

I'm going to start with a little bit about me as I hope I'll get the chance to learn about any others who may come across this blog.
I'm 22, have been on a ketosis diet for about 4 months, and have lost over 30 kilos now. During this time I've grown to really enjoy cooking instead of taking the lazy way out (take-aways & pasta) as I did for my BA which is when I gained the majority of my weight. This blog will primarily be dedicated to recipes that I've created/found & adapted to make suitable for a strict ketosis diet and I hope you enjoy them whether you're on a ketosis diet or not.

Thanks,
Ellie

  2. Hi Elif,
    Thanks very much and I'm sure you'll do well. Just the fact that you started shows your determination :)

    I'm still doing the programme and I think I'll be on it for another 3/4 months then hopefully I'll be at a healthy weight and able to maintain it.

    My advise would be (and these are things that really helped me):

    1) drink the water - it's extremely helpful in flushing the fat out of your body, it plays a big part in weight loss and keeping you full and without it your bowels tend to ... clog;

    2) schedule breaks every two and a half months or so or for when you reach a particular weight goal - this will motivate you to keep at the diet until you feel that the break is deserved, as a bonus when you start again a week or so later your body will start to loose weight as quickly as it did at the beginning. Eat normally though, no pigging out on junk food or just on the first day;

    3) In the first stage, when you're strictly on veggies and pronokal foods try to avoid eating out. It can be really hard to watch others eating what you want but it will be so worth it in the end.

    4) lastly, email the pronokal people about sauces e.t.c. you can eat. There's a particular soy sauce called 'Tamari' that's gluten free you'll be allowed or you can take your carb content for the day by taking a can of chopped tomatoes and adding spices. Look for dried spices like: basil, coriander, oregano, garlic, onion, chilli, ginger - any flavours you like. Eating just veggies can get old so make sure to try to flavour your food then you won't be so tempted (I'll put up some all vegetable recipes later and you should be sent some as well).

    Is there anything in particular you wanted to know? If so don't hesitate to ask and if you want to know anything about the day-to-day stuff then please don't hesitate to ask and I've got a blog I'm following (pronokal vixen) that describes that aspect as well.

    Good luck!
    Ellie
